We are located in the heart of Morayshire, roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen and the perfect base at the heart of the Speyside Whisky Trail.  Whether in Elgin or the surrounding areas, there is a whole variety of places to explore, all of which are easily accessible by car and most by public transport.

Elgin Cathedral

This magnificent ruin dates to the 13th Century and is one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in Scotland. It is the only Cathedral in Moray. Almost destroyed in 1390 by Alexander Stewart, the infamous ‘Wolf of Badenoch’.

Pluscarden Abbey

One of Northern Scotland’s most unusual attractions and one which is unique in Britain, is Pluscarden Abbey. It is the only medieval monastery in Britain still inhabited by monks and being used for its original purpose.

The peaceful Biblical Garden is situated in a quiet part of Elgin. The garden welcomes visitors from all over the world and is a great place to visit. A lovely setting to come and have a picnic with the family.

Covesea Lighthouse

Covesea Lighthouse building commenced in 1844 and was commissioned in 1846. After being decommissioned in 2012 and is now in community ownership where the volunteers manage the estate.
